Book Review

•
This book is, as the title suggests, a book about bullshit.
I bought it because I was drawn to the title, but since it is a philosophy-based book, it was very boring and uninteresting. However, it was definitely a book that left a lasting impression.
By defining the word "bullshit," it allows us to reflect on how to live in a society where bullshit is rampant.

This is a very difficult book to read. The text is less than 70 pages long. The book is also only slightly larger than a smartphone. Nevertheless, it took me a very long time to understand the book and finish reading it.
Although there were many signs of difficulty and deliberation during the translation process centered on the word "Bullshit," there were too many ungrammatical sentences and many sentences expressed awkwardly due to literal translation.
Up until the halfway point, it was so difficult to read that I couldn't understand at all what the book was trying to say. However, if you persevere and endure until you finish reading it, you can clearly understand the message the author has conveyed to society.

The author says that people who talk nonsense are more dangerous than people who lie.
A liar speaks while being aware that their words are false. In such cases, they can be corrected through legal sanctions, private sanctions, or personal moral rehabilitation.
However, people who talk nonsense often speak while believing that their words are correct. Individuals with misguided beliefs or types like narcissists are prone to talking nonsense. Since these people cannot distinguish whether what they say is true or false, the probability of them changing is very low.
This is exactly why it is said that bullshit is more dangerous than a liar.

If you have decent English skills, I recommend reading the original version.
(It is a secret that even this book, which criticizes bullshit, contains bullshit!)
